Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the completion of the requirement gathering exercise, transfer the business objectives/statements into technical requirements, deliver the Statement of Requirements Document and its assumptions. This document is the guide that will be used to drive the next stages of a project. It provides: • An executive summary of the requirements for management purposes. • A statement of key objectives -- a "cardinal points" specification. This means the stated aims of the project. • A description of the environment in which the system will work. • Background information and references to other relevant material. • Information on major design constraints. • Reference to the entities’ integration perspective. 

He/She will segregate the information in the problem domain -- concentrate on what the business wants the system to do.  At the system level, it will state what the system must do. She/he needs to answer four key questions with a requirement gathering exercise: • What is the purpose of the project? Remember to focus on the problem not the solution, the solution comes later when fully understand the requirements. • What is the underlying goal? To drive productivity, reduce costs etc. • Is there an implied solution? This is usually the case, for example the customer is in the market for a virtualized infrastructure. • What are the success criteria? i.e. when will you know the objectives have been met. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is highly desirable.   As well as formal qualifications, a Data Center business analyst job description should include the following qualities: • Extensive experience in Data Center with a focus on business requirements collection. • Solid understanding of Data center technology in general with specific on solving business needs. • Good working knowledge of current IT Data center and future trend for 4th/5th generation data center. • Experience in multi-tenant cloud-based data center implementation.  •  Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce quality measures.
